NEW LIFE CRAFTS FOR MISSIONS

New Life Crafts for Missions remained a very active ministry in 2019.   The craft ladies participated in shows from the July 4th Blast through the York Country Day School “Holiday Bazaar” in December.  We raised a total of $2,400 from the many hand-crafted items that we offer.  We were mightily blessed, and had a wonderful time of fun and fellowship in the process!  MANY THANKS to all of you who support this outreach ministry at Christ U.M.C.

Each January one of the goals of this ministry is to disburse the money raised during the previous year by identifying organizations and other mission-based needs in our community.  This year the following disbursements were made from our Craft Ministry proceeds:

  • $1,000 was given to Christ U.M.C. for unpaid Shares of Ministry.

  • $500 was sent to the Linc Myers Family, Missionaries from Hungary returning to the States.

  • $250 was presented to The Women’s Care Center of York, an organization that supports pregnant women and their babies through counseling, education and material assistance.

  • $250 was presented to Teen Haven.

  • We will continue to give $50/month to Madi Wenger of DiscipleMakers.  This ministry provides spiritual support to young men and women on college campuses.  Madi and her husband, Brandon, lead Bible studies, offer counseling and serve students at Penn State University.

New Life Crafts Ministry is open to everyone of all ages for the purpose of using our God-given talents to create “new life” out of old, recycled materials, even as we remember the “new life” He gives to us through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Early on in this ministry we set three goals:

  1. Create a time of fellowship, laughter and goodwill among those who participate in this ministry, while bringing specialty crafts to our friends and neighbors in our church and community.

  2. Raise money for Mission support.

  3. Identify a service project to go out into our community and share the love of Christ with those who need encouragement.

We were blessed in 2019 to be able to accomplish all these goals with grateful and thankful hearts.

Everyone is welcome to join us for our meetings as follows: At the present time we are stopping all meetings. We are hoping to resume in May.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever”   Psalm 106:1

The Craft Ministry Team

All are welcome to join us as we create "new life" out of old, recycled materials - just as Christ gave us "new life" through His life, death and resurrection.  "Not to us, Oh Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness." - Psalm 115:1
